I had actual real people call me wondering what's going to happen at the Council Session today . . . Is it really going to go down? Is the Council really going to override Mayor Funky's Volunteer Ordinance veto?
The safe bet is on yes but you never know with this Council . . . Everybody has a prediction, a Council member they think might sell out . . . Some unexpected and last ditch effort that might succeed.
So, if you're like I am and desperately curious as to how this thing is going to go down . . . Please take this time to make predictions that will seem horribly out of touch in a few hours!!!
Tell us what you think is going to happen if you dare . . . For some strange reason, I feel like having some Vietnamese food.
Keep your fingers and toes crossed Kansas City . . . This could be interesting (or not).
My money's on the veto being overridden, but one or two council votes will go Funk's way.
ReplyDeleteThat will be followed by comments from Funk that will sway back and forth between dejection and anger (and I would say it's even money that within the next few days word will leak out that Funk refers to the council's femail majority as "bitches" if not worse).
What I'm hoping will happen is that Mark and Gloria take the Ingrid Burnett way out and hand in their resignations (but I'll leave out the part where I fantasize about them jumped out of the 29th floor window together holding hands).
I was with 5 council members last night, and it looks like they are fully set to override da Funk.
