KANSAS CITY CHIEFS' SHAME: MOSTLY EMPTY SEATS AT ARROWHEAD!!!

The details of the Chiefs loss to the Raiders aren't really important, even if they're especially embarrasing.
What deserves more attention is that the Stadium looked half empty for the home opener against what was supposed to be a bitter grudge match.
I'm surprised the mainstream media still tried to play up that angle even though it was clear that nobody cared . . . In fact, other than Larry Johnson unwisely opening his big mouth because of his lack of carries . . . This disappointment pretty much followed the same script as most KC losses with the team making it much closer than it should have been during the final minutes. In every other sense of the match-up: It was a shutout.
But, again, that's not important.
What's worth noting is:
ARROWHEAD WAS MOSTLY EMPTY YESTERDAY!!!
Could it be that the people of Johnson County have finally wised up to hype from the Chiefs? Or maybe this is economy is just so bad that paying for an hour commute in order to see a sloppy game just doesn't seem worthwhile anymore . . . Whatever the reason, fans seem to be staying away.
Even worse, the folks at the game cleared out despite the 4th quarter mini-comeback that only served to piss off compulsive gamblers.
The rumored late season blackout might be on the way sooner than we all think . . .
Oh, and if this keeps up or the team only wins 1 or 2 games in the coming weeks . . . LOOK FOR HERM EDWARDS TO BE GONE BY MIDSEASON!!!

tony... herm won't be gone by mid-season. neither will carl peterson for that matter. watch for clark hunt to keep a close eye on the progress or lack thereof during the season. little to no improvement, clark will clean house. some improvement, clark will only get rid of carl. vast improvement (ha!!), everyone stays.
Like you d-bags are going to stop going to the games!!
You've already proven you have nothing better to do with your time than jocksniff.
Just keep buying those jerseys and $6 watered down beers and I'll keep doing Tony Montana-sized cocaine mounds off the asses of high-dollar cooze ....sound like a good deal??
Oh, and thanks... after all, you paid for it.
The way the season is sure to go, I think the price for the naming rights will drop enough for some local painter or muffler shop to buy the rights, "Franks discount muffler Arrowhead Stadium"
Chiefs suck, yes I am a bandwagon guy.
Herm stays, offensive coordinator gone.cuz LJ is a crybaby, Peterson demoted then fired,...look for veteran quarterback to be brought in and Croyle gone,
I thought High School football games were played on Friday Nights not Sunday Afternoons at Arrowhead.
Mortimas gets the Funny of the Day award.
As for Carl, I believe that was him posting. He is such an arrogant SOB, I don't see him going anywhere. Clark Hunt does not have the balls to get rid of Carl no matter how bad he needs to go.
As long as Wayne Cauthen stays, so should Herm. Herm loses a few games... no big deal. Wayne Cauthen ripping off tax payers by the millions... Big Deal.
With the Chiefs, the fans have the final say. Don't buy Chief's crap and stay away from the Home games. If only we could stop sending our taxes to the City of Kansas City due to inept Mismanagement by the city (mis)manager
Larry Johnson should try to quell his addiction to alcohol and the P&L District.
Friday night before the Patriots game (actually 1am Saturday morning) he was helped to his Maybach by 2 people. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that getting sloshed 35 hours before kickoff is not going to be good for anyones athletic perfomance.
This past Saturday around 7 pm he was again at P&L for a little while, standing outside McFadden's with Rasheed Wallace. They then left for another destination.
Lets pass another bond issue for the teams and build some more restaurants and stuff for them and then it will get better. REMEMBER ALL OF THAT OLD B.S. WE HEARD --Well it is jus like some of us said . Spend the money on winners not losers or the losers will stay forever. LOSERS
The reason no one was there is because we don't have a roof. If you all would have voted for a roof we would be at the games.
I've got a pair of front row seats (chiefs side, about the 27 yard line)and red-reserve a parking pass for sale for most remaining games...
E-mail me if you're interested!
Not if you fucking paid me.
Ha.
It sure would make an impressive cemetery.
Hunt needs to grow balls and fucking fire these losers!!! This pack a shit isn't going anywhere. Coach says evaluating talent at QB, what fucking talent.. They don't have any talent with Croyle or any of these stupid son-of-a bitches. They are beer league talent at best and they won't produce because the offensive line sucks donkey cock!
you know it's sad. i've been a chiefs fan since i was a boy. i was raised to support your team no matter what. with the good comes the bad and the bad comes the good and eventually every NFL team goes through a dark time. but this is down right embarrassing. don't get me wrong....every friday through sunday i wear my jerseys (and i have all of my jerseys from joe montana and marcus allen when i was 9 to steve bono when i was in junior high and even my tony gonzalez and derrick thomas..fuck you neil smith, i burned yours for being a bronco) and i give my team all i have on sundays. they are the only reason i buy the sunday ticket on dish....
i grew up in Memphis and when the Titans came to town it gave me a reason to wear my chiefs garb. and then i moved to indianapolis and it gave me even more of a reason to show my support. i hate colts fans. they are the smuggiest of smug assholes...but do you how hard it is to do that now without catching a verbal lashing because our team sucks so bad. and having nothing to say to defend yourself because everything they are talking about is completely true.
i scrap, save, cheat and steal my way to arrowhead once a year just to watch a game and be apart of the insanely loud arrowhead crowds. the tail-gating, the atmosphere, the excitement...even when it is freezing ass cold outside and you can't feel your face, i live for these games....but i'm second guessing myself here. will it even be worth the trip this year to watch my chiefs get blown out by the titans or the saints or the bucs? is it worth the drive and the gas? i wish i could say yes and i feel terrible that i can't.
three years ago we had a team to be proud of but i've watched them deteriorate over the last few seasons. and it breaks me. i went to the pre-season game against chicago with my fiance (because she is a big bears fan) and i thought....maybe there is hope...they played a good game. they looked like a team again but the season opens they fell apart somewhere.
and i have never been one to question a teams leadership but i am beginning to wonder about herm edwards as a coach and a leader. starting a new quarterback every week is just bad coaching. it provides no consistency and thats what these young guys need and we have a whole roster full of young guys.
he said he was evaluating QB talent...that should've been done before they were drafted or signed or at the latest during the pre season. and doesn't make sense to me and as a die hard fan it disappoints me.
i love my chiefs. they are my team and they will always be my team but this has got to stop. this is insanity. this is ridiculous. and maybe we do need a new head coach. lane is available. maybe we could hire 2 or three new coaches and evaluate them. this is just not working out and changes need to happen soon or we'll lose this team.
and i can;t believe i am saying this but i am not looking forward to the rest of the season. i feel bad for the team. the players. because they give us all they have week in and week out. they play the game. but their leadership is failing them and so they lose. i don't blame the players....i feel like the coaching staff is letting us all down and the ownership is doing nothing about it.
it's all just very frustrating.
I'm a Chiefs fan from a country far away, approximately on the other side of earth from Missouri. You don't normally find people liking American Football here, let alone fans of particular team.
What I like about the game is how the team embodies the philosophies and teachings of the coach. Under the leadership of the coach, the players unite their collective talents to form a team to win games. From Marty Ball, to Gunther, to Vermeil... they all played football, and they all tried to win games.
But here's a coach that doesn't play to win. His philosophy is all messed up and he has a history of messing up even before he set foot on Arrowhead grounds. He was given more than enough chances, but instead of rebulding the team, he has systematically destroyed it. Other than the Bengals of the late 90s, I have never seen a more total and complete destruction of a team.
When a team lose a game, the fans usually have the consolation that next week, the team will play better. The players will be all fired up, and the coach wil bring in the spiced up game plan. But when the team lose consecutively, in shutouts and in record breaking fashion, there is no consolation. The brown bag on our heads is being lit up on fire by our laughing opponent fans as we suffer from both shame and disgrace.
Sooner than later, the Chiefs organization will feel it in their bank accounts, when thier ticket sales dwindle and merchandises stay on the shelves. By then it'll be too late to rebuild the team. I hope we're not to late to turn around.
It's unfortunate that even with young players, we keep the game close or sometimes , we have been winning. Our coaches make calls like we are play-off teams. The reality is we should have 4 or so wins but the coaches took that right out of the players hands. Let them play(young team) and step-down(Carl P and so forth, Eric might need Herm for equipment manager?), you are proven losers but nice people. Find a different profession and let somebody in that will have some confidence in the young players.
Well If you want first round picks keep Herman Edwards. If you want a Superbowl contender get rid of King Bullshit Carl and Herm Edwards. I have seen bad coaches in my time but this is the most pathetic group of coaches I ever seen. My son played little league football and I have seen better coaching there then I do with the chiefs. I am not sure what happen to Gunnie but when he was here in the 90's we had one of the best damn defenses in the NFL it because Marty let him do what he is capable of doing getting the players he needs to get pressure on the QB down after down after down. Fuck the cover 2 it DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!! Why would you pick up a college has been in Chan Gaily. Tyler Thigpin is starting to prove himself in this spread offense bring Mr Saunders back and lets have some fun. But I know better then that.
