TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! CHAOS AT CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL!!! CONTINUED KANSAS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT FAILURE!!!
I'll make this quick and to the point because we all know that the Kansas City School District is a disgrace.
ALREADY 4 DAYS INTO THE SCHOOL YEAR AND CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL IN KANSAS CITY HAS YET TO ISSUE TEXTBOOKS!!!
There are tons of rumors floating around about the incompetence of Administrators. My favorite tale of woe claims that the district stored some books at Van Horn even though they knew it was soon to cede to Independence. Now teachers are without resources . . . Unlike lawyers who were quickly dispatched to fight people trying to escape KC Schools.
The chaos doesn't stop there and I'm also hearing the usual tales of wrongly assigned classes, a bit of violence in the opening of the school year and plenty more proof of conflict already floating around the Internets.
However, let's not forget that Mayor's Education Summit (which has taken more than a year of planning) is supposed to fix all of this (even if he only has one council person "thinking" about supporting him).
Meanwhile, Kansas City Schools continue to crumble and descend into chaos.

That's what happens when you have black administrators who are more worried about furnishing their offices with African artifacts. If Leon beats the drum 2 times and Shaqueta beats on the drum 5 times... how many times more does Shaqueta hit the drums than Leon?

um...hasn't anyone noticed that the principal at Central, Deborah RAGSDALE Smith, is the daughter of a board member who was already terminated from a district level position as test coordinator earlier this decade? Tony, check up on this! You could break this wide open!
The Principal's name is Debbie McGill, not Debbie Smith. She is Helen Ragsdale's daughter. She was fired as the district's MAP test coordinator in 2001. She was also appointed an administrator the same week Amato was let go.
I've also heard that she is out of control psycho - they may be losing the few good teachers they have because of her. It's a shame. Again the kids suffer for the Board follies.
It's REALLY hard to get fired from KCMSD - how did she do it? That is an accomplishment in itself.
If you want to know how easy it is to get fired from the KCMO School district just try and solve the Ragsdale problem from the inside. You won't last long. These people have their fingers into everything in this city. The newspaper won't touch this.
Ragsdale fired the vice principal at my child's school. The reason. Ragsdale's nephew got sent to the principal's office for making trouble and the principal actually punished him.
McGill is out of control and from what I've heard not at all qualified to have this position. Her primary background is in elementary education. That does NOT qualify her to take on any High School, let alone one with as many problems as Central. She's also said to be very fond of pointing out who her mom is. I guess she doesn't want anyone to get ideas about an overthrow.
