Most of the talk regarding the recent attacks at The Power & Light District has devolved into a boring racial discussion predicated on the silly assumptions that white people don't commit crime.
SADLY, FOLKS ARE OVERLOOKING THE REAL CULPRIT IN POWER & LIGHT DISTRICT BEATINGS: HORRIBLE DOWNTOWN PARKING!!!
Remember that the victims of the attacks were beaten outside of the P&L District and they were most likely finding their way back to their car . . . That means the fortress like downtown castle intended to keep out people of color didn't provide adequate parking. Or maybe the victims simply wanted to save a buck and overlooked all of the nearby parking options?
Whatever the case . . . It's clear that adequate AND SAFE parking downtown isn't abundant and this fact is no longer simply a point of contention among amateur urban development enthusiasts but a matter that could result in even more Kansas City violence against suburban hipsters who naively accept the illusion of safety offered by segregated, corporate entertainment.
Don't forget the fact that Cordish is strong arming the city into allowing the P&L District to be the biggest unregulated boozefest in the state.
