Fact: Kansas City Light Rail doesn't care about Black people

There was a lot of great commentary in the local blogopshere yesterday about Cordish concerns regarding light rail. I couldn't help but agree with most of the outrage.

Sadly, one blog stood out for it's stupidity regarding the subject.

Here's the money quote from a hopelessly clueless concern that is run by annony bloggers:

"Are you ready for a Cordish boycott?"

That statement kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it? Light Rail advocates don't really care about widespread discrimination at the place but they get their panties in a bunch over any objection to a multi-billion dollar project.

TKC doesn't want to boycott the P&L District . . . I'd just like it if they started letting minorities in . . .

Nevertheless, I just thought that I'd point to one of the many occasions when a "serious" Kansas City blog ends up looking foolish for filing a post that's overly emotional, destructive and not in the best interest of anyone in this town . . . Very much like anonymous political groups and influence peddlers using the Internets to feign support.

At the very least, TKC claims all of my stupid opinions and jokes.

You claim your opinions and aren't afraid to use the name Cordish. I've noticed that most of the news outlets in town use the phrase "the company that owns P&L" or similar wording. KSHB is an exception - they use Cordish. What is it about the Cordish Empire that has the news people running scared?

I have noticed that to. Nobody wants to use the company name.

I am sure they get all lawyered up when they feel they have been slighted.

the city built a nice water park near my parents house. my mom loves taking the grand kids up there. recently it was vandalized, they cut the umbrellas and slathered graffiti all over the place. the city has no money to replace the stuff that gets destroyed, it will forever look like that. the people who did it live in the neighborhood but you can tell they don't give 2 shits about it. there is trash littering the streets, lawns unmowed and houses in various states of disrepair. do you want those same people at your nice clean entertainment district? i don't so i agree with keeping dirtbags out of there. fuck a bunch of ghetto trash, they can have westport.

Cordish will kill your ad sales. Tony doesn't have any. It makes for a good blog but a bad business plan.

I didn't read this post, but agree with the title... Light Rail doesn't care about black people.... but then again... who really does? Ligth Rail would just be another moving vehicle to tag... that is if the dirty illegal mexicans don't get to it first... Gawd, those little bastards are soooo predictable. LOL

Cordish needs to turn down the volume on the bands. i can hear them from three blocks away. If entertainment is 120 db sound, I would hope to see some law suites filled by the those who are loosing hearing. By the way, I don't doubt for a moment that Cordish wishes to control the ethnic mix. They will do so up to the first successful judgement against them. Corporate money going out might change things. Don't look for this council to defend your civil rights. Blame the mayor if you must, but it is the council that can make the changes. Take them on after you get Gloria back home.

File a noise complaint online with the health department. There's city regs about noise. It's illegal to do what you described.

Are we still talking about Light rail? I thought that most people got the idea 7 years ago that the voters do not want to spend a Billion Dollars so that some yuppie loft dwellers who hang out at the P&L can talk about living in a FIRST CLASS town. Hey this is hick city and we like it that way and it is going to stay that way.
Learn to ride your thumb that is all you gonna get from voters in Kansas City.
