Personal responsibility vs. liability: KCPD urges club owners to babysit barflies!!!

You know, it's a big responsibility pushing the last legal drug that's not in pill form.
That's why I'm not surprised about a crackdown underway on local clubs.
Members of the department met with tavern managers and employees in the popular Westport nightclub district to discuss a wide range of laws that apply to bars, clubs and other facilities that serve alcohol. Then they tried to clarify some of the gray areas woven into those regulations . . .Apparently, the KCPD is putting out a warning that managers and employees are accountable for the behavior of their patrons.
I have mixed feelings about the whole thing but then again I only drink in a basement corner, alone and usually crying . . . So none of this really applies to me.
On other hand, this might be good news for neighbors of Club Zen and the surrounding chaos in the parking lot which TKC exclusively reported.
OR Maybe not . . . P&L District reps are always noticeably absent from any discussions regarding conduct at Kansas Clubs even though sources tell TKC that it's pretty much anything goes as far as liquor code enforcement in the lily white serfdom of the Cordish Group.
An interesting fact revealed in the article is that clubs could be held accountable for assaults against women even after they've left the premises . . . And that really is news to me because I thought everyone simply blamed women who were date raped for their own misfortune.

Cordish uses a number of bullies to threaten the City any time regulations get in the way of their money machine.
Of course now that the dough is rolling into city coffers City Hall's voice gets weaker and weaker.
Meanwhile local business die in the shadow of this public subsidized fiasco.
Interestingly enough there have been several police drunk checks near Westport despite the decline in drinkers in Westport overall. The Cordish Empire somehow avoids having drunk check points near the death star known as P&L.
On a nightly basis Dan witnesses drunks in the P&L...
puking on the sidewalk
tripping into those planters along the sidewalk
being carried out by friends because they couldn't walk under their own power
These are things he sees each and every time he is in the P&L, not just once in awhile.
yet KCPD can't be bothered with drunk checks nearby. They prefer to be across town where there are fewer actual drunks to deal with.
So is it true that ZEN is responsible for the racing and gun fire that happens in and around their club? A murder a half block north and a shooting a half block south are of course coincidence. But the next shooting if it is as close, might, just might, stretch those limits of coincidence.
Zen is a disaster. Too bad there wasn't more talk about them. By comparison westport does a decent job with crowd control.
Why don't bar owners refuse to serve people that are obviously shitfaced?
Because they like money...
My gosh I could munch on those for a bit before heading down south.
