Today, The Star is running a story about the role of Union Station in light rail.
And for awhile I thought I was inside that crappy Bill Murray movie they play 300 times in a row on TBS during the winter because I've seen this idea before . . . In fact, just a quick Google Search and I found that . . .
New, Local, Internet News site The KC Tribune had written something about this story: "Union Station Won’t Work as Transit Hub"
And BlogKC also filed a post on the topic: "Realizing that Union Staton may not be able to serve as future transit hub"
And once again, proving that The Star doesn't have an inkling as to how the new media works . . . There is not a single link or line acknowledging that this discussion started on the Internets. Surprisingly, this move comes not too long after a Star columnist did his best to attack some minor details in an Internet story and decry Citizen Media . . . It's a nice, pompous and elitist stand to take but overlooks the fact that so many local bloggers and Internet publishers are REGULARLY publishing news BEFORE Kansas City's so-called paper of record and proving to have just as much influence over this town's discourse and constant whining is nothing more than a gut reaction from journalists who are facing layoffs from an institution on the decline.
More importantly, a photo gallery of Audrina Patridge who is famous for God knows what is proof that new is better, or something.
KCTRIBUNE does it right. If you know anything about the ownership you know that they will only write the truth as they see it. On Union Station they need to call for a NO VOTE on Light Rail if Union Station is not used as the Transit Hub.
ReplyDeleteNo one will drag their suitcases from Grand to Main when going on a vacation and riding light rail to downtown.
