The TKC Saturday Night Podcast: Rock On!!!

Tonight calls for a bit of reminiscing for TKC . . . It's not all hip-hop and mariachi music here in the basement (even though that's what I listen to the majority of the time along with disco and R&B) . . . I'm actually a great fan of Stone Temple Pilots (at least their popular songs).

STP is what my days at Penn Valley sounded like as I enjoyed the sweet release from Catholic education. Thinking back it was quite a relief not to have to listen to underpaid teachers and nuns telling me that I wasn't as smart as affluent, white JoCo students who had parents that just happened to be benefactors of the pricey, private school I attended as a youngster. Put simply, STP has always sounded like freedom, guzzling cheap booze with my friends and the soundtrack to dalliances with loose, working class white broads from some of the worst suburbs in Kansas City.

This will be my first time seeing the group in concert. I'm actually kind of excited. Therefore I'm offering tonight's playlist as a dedication to not only Rockfest but also to working class women with unfortunate tattoos and the songs that played constantly in my crappy blue Toyota Corolla during the mid-90's.

Check it:

  • Plush - STP
  • Interstate Love Song - STP
  • Vasoline - STP
  • Wicked Garden - STP
  • Sex Type Thing - STP
  • Big Empty - STP
  • Save Me - ShineDown
  • Enemy - Sevendust
  • Click, Click, Boom - Saliva
  • Creep - STP

Thanks for reading this week!!! A very special thanks to tipsters and commenters. Have a safe and fun Saturday Night.

Rockfest has the worst lineup I've ever seen.
Only in KC would 50,000 mouthbreathers turn out for that Turdfest in the sun.

Was Weiland sober? I bet it was good.

Weiland is like Axl Rose, except better and he actually produces music.
