Morning link collection: Monday Rolling

To start it off, here's a rather interesting photo shoot featuring Shania Twain, it's her first publicity since she's been divorced and it's somehow appropriate . . .

  • Larry Town Laments: Double Murder Allegedly by 16 year-old in Lawrence Shocks Community

  • A sheriff's deputy was shot and wounded in a rural area near Windsor, Mo.

  • People nicer than you on Saturday: Saturday was the 14th annual year for the United Way CFC Day of Caring. Volunteers did yard work at local non-profits like the Gillis Center.

  • Saving the planet when they're not busy ripping you off: Hybrid taxis in Kansas City are saving hundreds at the pump every week.

  • Participation in Plaza Doggy Fest allows many locals to come to terms with the fact that they're horribly lame: ‘Dog-N-Jog’ Brings Hundreds to Plaza

  • Ugliest fish in the State: Big Bass Breaks 31-Year-Old Kansas Record

  • It's less dangerous if you don't see it: In a face-off between little Glasgow, Mo., and big Kansas City Power & Light Co., the town won Saturday as the utility agreed to run power lines underground instead of through a city park.

Dayum I could camp out under that for a fortnight. Just throw that fabric over the back of my head like one of those old-time photographers and start gnawing.
