The Wizard of Ass!!!

There's a Kansas connection to the work of one of my favorite authors.

Snuff is the latest book from Chuck Palahniuk, who wrote Fight Club. If you haven't already, Check out Palahniuk's awesome fan site which I've been reading since '99 for a more extensive preview of the work. The plot is surprisingly simple: "The novel tells the story of Cassie Wright, an aging porn queen who intends to put an exclamation point on her career by having sex with 600 men in one day on film."

Obviously, the seemingly wonderful (but unfortunately imaginary) "Wizard of Ass" is one of the porno flicks in her "body of work."

This Youtube promotion of a novel is definitely a "NEXT STEP" move and the only thing I regret is that the clip gives us a clue as to what the fictional Cassie Wright looks like rather than allowing the reader to use their imagination.

Still, if the Internets has taught us anything it's that a great marketing move is infinitely more important than high minded literary notions. Nevertheless, I was looking forward to this book before the spoof porno preview that mocks the folklore of a neighboring state AND NOW I'm even more eager to read it.
