UNSPOKEN TRUTH: KANSAS CITY IS THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE MIDWEST!!!
There have been six people killed in the past seven days in Kansas City.
The weekend is coming . . . There will be more.
If the Johnson County editors at Kansas City's paper of record had any courage they would print this information above the fold in 36-point-type with exclamation points . . . Instead the news is buried in the local section because it doesn't really impact the lives of the d-bag columnists and editors in the suburbs.
As usual, MAYOR MARK FUNKHOUSER HAS PROVIDED ABSOLUTELY NO LEADERSHIP ON THE SUBJECT OF VIOLENT CRIME IN KANSAS CITY and now the majority of his time is being spent debating an imaginary light rail plan with Clay Chastain.
And still more people will die in Kansas City this weekend while so many middle-class media folks read and report this devastating news as if they're reciting a laundry list.
The recent spate of homicides in Kansas City is a problem affecting everyone who lives in this town, but the majority of us (white people) are ignoring it.
Young, mostly minority males are being slaughtered en masse in Kansas City . . . Sadly, the majority of the excitement in local media coverage today is being directed toward David Cook. Media people offer lame excuses about demographics, the structure of the local media market and all sorts of reasons for their lack of coverage . . . But the blame isn't all theirs. Time after time it has become clear that the people in this town don't care when people of color are killed which is one of many reasons that Kansas City is a horribly racist, cruel and backward town and people would most likely take offense to the preceding remark than the constant stream of homicides and blood on our streets.

Where is Eastside leadership? When is the last time a 3rd District council person had a press conference to denounce violence?

Exactly right. The so called leaders in that community are only interested in enriching themselves off the school district or some other affirmative action program. Where are the preachers? They only tell their flock its whitey's fault. Tell them what they want to hear and pass the collection plate. Have to shop for a new Mercedes, no time to help troubled kids.

I think Tony does a good job creating discussion and raising awareness.

Charles -- exactly how does Tony raise awareness? By linking to stories that legitimate news organizations have already reported? He's simply mooching off the work of others. He "creates" discussion, if you want to call it that, by offering the occasional tired, flippant race-related remark, followed by no personal insight or suggestions as to how to curb the violence in Kansas City.
it all starts in the home Tony. Do something to change it.
Putting mo' cops out in the streets won't help out.
Another problem is the school system. If the minorities can't graduated from high school and become dumb. It will be more likely the minorities will end up on the streets.

Personall, I'm from tha Eastside.... 1800 Blocc of Bennington to put a pin point! I've ranon tha streetz, and I'm Italian/Native American/White. So it's an everybody thang. Also we are doing things about it but tha media don't show it!
It's partly tha schools, other parts is city/local politics ignore us..... Until just recently I have never seen any "beautifying" or "neighbor hood rehabilitation" efforts from anyone but tha residence! Nwow that we're getting a big super highway runnin through KC in a few years they wanna fix it up! Thats tha problem! Do tha home work before you blame it on race, or creed, or culture, Tony's pretty much on point! and if you gotta say somethin bout it other wise Get at my email and I'll explain more!
