TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! RUMOR HAS IT AUTHORITIES DON'T CARE ABOUT CODE VIOLATIONS AT THE P&L DISTRICT!!!

So, from what AWESOME TKC tipsters are telling me . . . The P&L District doesn't really have to worry about Kansas City's Liquor Control Board judging from the behavior that's being reported (but not investigated) at clubs inside the taxpayer subsidized entertainment district.

Kansas City City's big bet is seemingly being protected and is now above the law!!!

Example: Rumor has it that one of the P&L District bars has not turned into a de facto "titty bar" and the male bartenders are topless while hosing down female employees (good times) . . . As fun as this sounds, the P&L District isn't exactly zoned for the rampant nudity going on in its establishment and the apparently there are a lot of folks in town wondering when or if there's going to be a crackdown. It's not like KC Liquor control doesn't run a tight ship . . . Remember a couple years ago a popular downtown bar was nearly closed because of unsanctioned spanking (hehe) and the same kind of issues with nudity.

First the P&L District wants to be the only place in Kansas City where people can drink a beer outside and now they seemingly don't answer to anybody when it comes to codes of conduct . . . Once again it's clear that DOWNTOWN CORPORATE INTERESTS ARE ABOVE THE LAW IN KANSAS CITY!!!

Power and Light is screwing the hell out of this city. Cordish is taking the money and running. They could give a damn about how they get it done.

Actually there's no reason that behavior shouldn't be legal as long as all present are consenting. Balanca's should never have been busted in my opinion.

Sorry perv. You can't flash your tits at a bar, men or women. Try again. It it's happening on a regular basis and the club isn't doing something about it then they could face a fine.

12:08, why not? Does it cause injuries? Is it a health risk? Does it make your liqour more potent? If all it does is bust your morals then what are you doing at a bar that condondes that in the first place?

Let me try and clarify. It's not a question of morals but one of codes. There is strict zoning for nudity at drinking establishments. The P&L District is not zoned for such activity, their bartenders don't have adult entertainers licenses. It the activity is unlicensed and unsanctioned that should inspire the Liquor Board to act.

I went to a concert at P&L last night. Good venue, cheaper drinks than I thought would be available ($4 Blvd Wheat), good show.

But crappy, oppressive workers at the facility itself. A friend I was with was carded a total of 8 times. Often times he was just standing around without a drink in his hand and someone would come up to card him.

He was also told to get a new shirt because the designer boots and $150 jeans along with a Banana Republic white t-shirt was deemed against the dress code. This despite the fact that numerous others in attendence were also clad in white t-shirts and allowed to stay.

So my friend returned (in another white shirt, but this one had about 6 inches of a black design on it which appearantly was OK), and we prepared to watch the show from a balcony area along the steps. We asked numerous P&L personnel if we could stand in the area, which was equipped with a full table and abuted away from the stairs themselves. "Sure, no problem" was the response.

Sure enough, after staking out this spot for 2 hours, as the concert starts an annoying d-bag begins ushering everyone off including us.

Why? Because it was a fire hazard and, quote, "No One can stand on the stairs". So we leave the stairs only to have our perch swarmed by 4 KC Cops who proceeded to watch the show, take numerous pictures of the show, clap and stomp their feet to the music.

In short, P&L is a ritzy place. I'll go to the venue again. And if it went out of business tomorrow I wouldn't give a S**T. The workers there are pricks. Short and simple.

Tony's just miffed because P&L even got off the ground, and he was hoping for a failure so spectacular it would make a grown man who lives in his mother's basement look like a success in comparison.

you have to remember that the city owns it, not an individual or a group of people.

Ha Ha and you think that the kind of behavior doesnt still happen at the bar that had the issue 2 years ago? Hmmm, even bloggers stating the bartender aka owner wrongfully kicked them out. Hmmmm, KC power and light at least has security and has good lighting.
