Royals Win!!! Nobody cares.
Sitting alone in my mom's basement, drinking and getting into flame wars on one of my favorite blogs that I'd prefer not to share with you d-bags . . . I looked up from the computer screen for a second and noticed that the Royals had an impressive win last night. What's probably more important is that THE STADIUM WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY EMPTY!!! Of course there was the threat of rain from weather people who really don't know what they're talking about but it turned out to be a beautiful spring evening. I guess folks could blame this on the recession but I prefer to think it's the fact that the Royals still suck that's responsible for barely anyone at the K.
It's still very early in the season and any kind of speculation that the Royals "are really gonna turn it around this year" is crazy. With a few occasional lapses of brilliance, by and large they're the same horrible team they were last year . . . Overall, the Royals are the worst team in baseball considering that they haven't made it to the playoffs in MORE THAN TWO DECADES and haven't played better than .500 ball consistently since back in the days when everyone was using AOL. I'd like to think that the people of Kansas City would eventually catch on to the scam of one "rebuilding" year after the next. I'm a bit of an optimist.

Except for the fact that they are doing markedly better this year than they were at the same time last year. And they are only a handful of games back in the division with most of the season to go. And MLB has the fewest amount of playoff teams out of all the major sports.
Yeah Chimpo but Tony makes a great point in talking about the fact that the stadium is empty! Kansas City will really shit themselves when The Royals move to Sin City.
