Helping people, smoking and bullets prove deadly in Kansas City this morning

A man, who police said was an employee at the Renaissance West addiction treatment facility at 5840 Swope Parkway, was shot to death around 12:50 a.m. this morning after he went outside to smoke a cigarette.
