The guy who robbed the autostore is lucky he didn't get his A$$ shot. Too bad he didn't. I don't care if you hold up a toy gun or not. In the heat of the moment, the teller shouldn't have to decide whether it's a toy or not. In that amount of time, he could be killed. Anyone committing a crime with a toy gun should receive maximum prison time as if it were real. More of these thugs robbing others have no place in society and should be shot.
With this and that $20 robbery story, you said like you sypathize with these thugs. They are all worthless scum and if they end up dead as the result of their viciousness... WHO CARES!

Couldn't agree more with the first poster. Face it folks: Tony wouldn't have had any sympathy if the robber was white. If I've learned one thing from reading TKC, it's that, if they're brown, they get the benefit of the doubt-always with no exceptions-no matter how much of a stretch it is. And when a white person is the victim, well, that's just icing on the cake. Not trying to start a race war here, especially since I AM brown...it's just that you make us all look bad by blindly defending any dirtbag that who's family didn't come from Europe.
I moved away from KC almost a year ago for work, but I love the town. I grew up there, and it was home for over 20 years. I read this blog because, at its best, it covers KC news that is either not reported or hardly reported (the coverage of Eastside is great, albeit tragic). At its worst, the commentary is nothing but Tony's simplistic, recycled rants (we get it, already: bikes, condos, the middle class, and 'Funky' are all bad and you don't like them). Jesus, talk about something else!
BTW, the $20 link and the toy gun link are the same story. I know it's dark in the basement which can make it hard to focus, but try to be a little more alert, Tony.
Goddammit, I hate people who type manifestos in blog comments. Well, I'll just have to be a self-loather because I've wanted to say this stuff for a while...
