KANSAS CITY'S DOWNTOWN RENAISSANCE (OR LACK THEREOF) FINALLY KILLED THE MANGO ROOM!!!
Buried in an article regarding an upcoming bar that I read courtesy of KC Beer blog is sad news that a great local business, with a lot more personality than the chain restaurants downtown, just went bust and is moving "out south." Yep, they gave it their best shot but the Mango room is gone and slow, often delayed P&L District Construction is to blame. Of course, there might be talk that we "just need to wait" for all of the great promises from Cordish to be fulfilled . . . I just wouldn't hold my breath. Also, the fact that the economic impact of the so-called Downtown renaissance is unfounded is now becoming apparent.

I'm suprised they lasted this long. There food has always sucked! They could have made it if they would have improved the menu and converted it into a coffee shop in the mornings. So long Mango room....good luck in the south...you'll need it.
I know that "journalism" isn't your strength, but you may want to do your homework a bit. The construction that basically shut down access to the Mango Room was the City's projects. They dragged on for months.
Their food sucked? I am assuming that ANon 835 didn't eat there because of his just stupid morning coffee shop comment. Ohh that would've been a big hit. hahahaa.
I think the Mango Room will have good luck in the South-east and west. Take it to Lee's Summit or Strange Line and watch the communities pour in Mango Room.
The food was poor and the service lousy. Tried it twice and both times it was an experince I was not going to try again. I wish it luck cause it will need it.
