Jared Allen doesn't want to stay in Kansas City, he probably knows that an entire career with the Chiefs means he'll never get a shot at a Superbowl.

Surprisingly, some fans say their shocked at recent trade talk. These are the same kind of d-bags who wear his jersey, rant about how talented the standout is on a crappy team and cheer as if he was their kid whenever the guy makes a tackle . . . In other words, they're suckers. Once again, the great white hope has sold out his fans in Kansas City - It's a recurring theme for anyone who has lived here long enough.

If the Chiefs are smart they'll take the trade not only because the guy was overrated but also because his best playing days are behind him. But this isn't really about football. There was once a time when popular sports stars would stay in Kansas City and become part of this community . . . e.g. Len Dawson or George Brett . . . But that day has been long gone for quite some time. There is no loyalty to Kansas City among athletes in much the same way that the owners of this town's teams don't mind Jackson County paying through the nose in order to subsidize the entertainment of the far more affluent folks in JoCo . . . It's not personal, it's just business. I believed that everyone but children understood that Chiefs players don't really care about KC, once again I was wrong and I can only find solace in thinking about all the dimwits with Jared Allen Jerseys in their closet pouting when the guy signs a multi-million dollar contract with a team that actually has a chance in competing for the Super Bowl.
