Depending on how you look at it, there was a great story in the news yesterday that either proves that justice eventually prevails (with the help of science) OR that people (women) are mostly unreliable d-bags . . .
An Independence man is out of jail after a DNA test cleared him of two sexual assaults.In this case I'll forgo any commentary about obvious racial and class disparity when it comes to the justice system and instead just simply note, as many others have, that we all take our chances with the law from parking tickets to false accusations to Thunderdome.
The victims in the two attacks in May and June of last year identified 20-year-old Deangilo Minor as their assailant. He spent almost nine months in jail while authorities compared his DNA to evidence found on one of the victims.
In March the test results came back negative, indicating the DNA came from another man who was in a felon database. The cases against Minor were dismissed this week.
There is nothing demonstrating obvious racial or class disparity contained within this story. Can you please elaborate on your veiled assertion?
