Today a judge put a stop to Clay Chastian's silliness.
A court ruling Friday once again derailed Clay Chastain's light rail battle.Still, all the way around this issue has been a loser for so many white people in Kansas City. In all of the drama, I've yet to see or hear of any person of color who felt strongly one way or another about light rail . . . Just saying.
A judge denied Chastain's motion to pull a bus sales tax off the ballot, saying there is no evidence the city did anything wrong when it repealed Chastain's voter-approved light rail plan last year.
The Mayor and the Council folk who stood with him looked as if they were thwarting Democracy by taking it off the ballot in the first place. I don't even want to think of how many wasted hours Chastain devoted putting it on the ballot in the first place and just about every Kansas City hipster who was excited by the project was simply admitting that they didn't really give a damn about the increasing number of po'folk in this town riding the bus.
Yep, this issue is/was Kansas City political poison but still much easier than dealing with the real poop that affects this town like BILLIONS in water infrastrucutre and the Mayor's long standing neglect of crime in "the Black part of town."
Damn. How did you get this story up so fast?
ReplyDeleteDemocracy, Schemocracy. I'm in favor of anything that tells Clay Chastain to go take a flying fuck at a rolling donut.
ReplyDeleteI'd support suspension of the constitution and the imposition of martial law if that's what it takes to keep that numb-nutted nimrod out of Kansas City.
Go sell crazy in Virginia Clay. We're all stocked up here.
I am not a fan of light rail. Anything that enables inner city trash to get up to my neighborhood cheaply and quickly I do not want. The last thing I want is another 71 highway bringing the pond sludge up north or far south.
