Who says nothing ever changes at the County? Everyone, that's who . . .
That latest semi-scandal . . . Some broad working both ends for Scott Burnett. Hehe.
Jackson County Legislator Scott Burnett paid $3,500 to the Missouri Ethics Commission after it contended he violated state law by having a county-paid aide work for his private business. All things considered this scandal really isn't that sexy. Finding a reliable broad to work under them is a privilege that most politicos take advantage of . . . However, more than 3k is a pretty steep fine and once again proves that not only will politicos at the County never stop screwing up but also (when factoring out medical bills) high class escorts are always a less expensive option.
Burnett’s full-time legislative aide, Rebecca Regan, often works out of his office at SGB Communications, a public relations business in Kansas City. Burnett does a lot of county work out of his private office, so he has Regan work there as well, the commission said.
Meaningless....would that there were more people like Scott Burnett and Rebecca Regan. This county needs smart, caring, devoted public servants...these are probably the best two people in the employ of Jackson County.
ReplyDeleteCertainly, we need as many people violating ethics regulations as possible.
ReplyDeleteTony, it must be easy for you to hide behind the anonymity of you website, cutting and pasting articles from the Star and then sprinkling them with your usual blend of snide mysoginy. But you need to be reminded that the woman you are throwing libelous innuendos at is a real human being, not some fictional character in a soap. Call yourself a journalist? Not even the lowest tabloid would employ you because they'd be quickly sued out of business.
ReplyDeleteIf Tony's so anonymous then why do you know his first name? This is a gossip and joke blog. It seems like an ethics violation is pretty good gossip. But you're probably just another reporter pissed off.
ReplyDeleteIf you can't trust Scott who can you trust?
ReplyDeleteRebecca Regan rocks dude! You are totally bashing the wrong person. She works her full time job at the County office, and works part-time at Burnett's office. Big deal. She probably needs the money since she is the lowest paid aide at the county by about 20,000 dollars.
ReplyDeleteHow do we know Tony is his name? He's profile is pretty bleak. He might be some sad wannabe sitting at a keyboard in his mom's basement.
ReplyDeleteMaybe 'Tony' is the only name he can spell.
The fact is it was Scott Burnett who violated state law, not Rebecca Regan. Yet it's her name being smeared here.
I recently received an email from Scott asking if anyone had a washer and dryer to donate to the Westside CAN Center. He offered to pick it up and deliver it, too! Sounds like a nice guy who goes out of his way to help the community. No quite the picture you have painted, Tony.
ReplyDeleteScott has always been a great friend to the Westside CAN Center(among other places) and if Tony doesn't know how wonderful Scott is, it's time he became informed. Regan is the BEST. Better to look at Stringfield's weirdness--except no one cares.
ReplyDeleteCan nobody read? Tony said "All things considered this scandal really isn't that sexy."
ReplyDeleteIt was the Missouri Ethics Commission (not Tony) that contended Scott Burnett violated state law, by paying what Tony describes as "a reliable broad". Tony hasn't smeared anybody's name. He has just reported that Scott paid the fine.
Sorry, are you reading the same article?
ReplyDeleteTony insinuated that Burnett was having an a sexual relationship with his aide, that he was in effect paying for sex.
Anyone who knows either of them knows how way off beam this is. And since Tony (we know who you are) know's Scott, you'd think he'd report this in a less gratuitous fashion.
And since when is 'a reliable broad' a compliment? You have to bend your perception of reality and especially of women to convince anyone of that.
Who said anything about a compliment? Do you just scan and react? Tony hasn't insinuated anything. He has reported a story in a joking way. And have you ever read this bit: "TKC is a joke/humor blog. Do not read this page unless you have a sense of humor and a good looking mother." And everybody knows who Tony is - he has openly told us many times.
ReplyDeleteScott and Becky are the best things going in local government, at any level. They're hard working, selfless and honest and I'm not just saying that because she's my sister and she told me to and because he owes me money. Also, having grown up with her, I'd like to see what was left of anybody who had the huevos to call Beck "a broad" to her face.
ReplyDeleteWhat Danny said.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad idea. If this is all just a 'joke', Tony, why don't you call Beck up and call her a broad over the phone. See what response you get. I'm sure she'll be laughing along with you.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe you could be a man and apologise.
