I've always thought looking for love online guaranteed only heartbreak or some horrible form of herpes.

Really, I haven't read such an honest approach to the subject in years. Usually, tales of local Internet dating involve white women desperately trying to convince everyone that they're not fat and posting a photo from 11 years ago is perfectly acceptable.
