Blunt backs the Stop Snitchin movement

Because his poll numbers are horrible, because he's losing, because he can't beat up on Mexicans on this particular issue . . . Blunt is filing a legal complaint against Scott Eckersley in a desperate attempt to get him to shut up.

It's just another political, legal, bullying maneuver on the part of Blunt who is falling further behind in the Governor's race everyday. Here's a bit of detail:
Blunt’s general counsel, Henry Herschel, filed a complaint with the office of chief disciplinary counsel alleging that Scott Eckersley, who was fired in September, has violated rules requiring lawyers not to disclose the legal advice they give their clients.

Eckersley has said he was fired after giving advice that was contrary to the administration’s stated position that e-mails were not public records and could be deleted. The administration later modified that stance and said some e-mails could be public records but has maintained that Eckersley never weighed in on the topic and was fired for other reasons.

According to Steve Garner, an attorney representing Eckersley, the complaint proves Eckersley has been telling the truth.

“They are, by filing that, admitting that he gave the exact advice that he said he did,” Garner said.
None of this is that interesting to me anymore but the cultural logics of the situation prove to me that so many conservatives and reactionaries in Missouri are hypocrites when it comes to issues of culture in the Show Me State.

Essentially, Blunt is using his lawyers (hired guns) to get Eckersley to shut up (stop snitchin). Blunt's people have been attacking the guy's character (diss track) and he has faced quite a bit of flack for coming forward with information that Blunt was allegedly deleting e-mails that should have been saved.

Blunt and Missouri Republicans are essentially enforcing a "stop snitchin" code of ethics.

Also, hiding information from the public NEVER looks good.

Finally, conservatives love to bash hip-hop and its culture but when money and election results are on the line . . . Their behavior is exactly the same as any gangsta rapper with lots of tough talk and encouragement to keep secrets regarding alleged misdeeds.
