"Grandpa vs. The Leader of the Free World"

Local blogger Sean Tevis could be one of the best writers in our tiny local blogosphere, if you're going to read any of the links on this page today . . . I really recommend a recent story posted on Tevis.net wherein the local blogger goes out to lunch with his grandpa on the guy's 82nd birthday and they encounter President Bush and his entourage . . . The attitude of the old dude is incredible and so characteristic of the old timers in this city. The post is a must read . . . Tell him I sent you.

Disrespectful old buzzard. That's admirable?

Maybe he really liked his paper? I have said the same thing many times. Respect the office even if you do not like the man. Obviously Dubya was smart enough to leave his grumpy ass alone.

Thanks for the props, Tony. Really. I didn't go into it in my story, but my grandpa is a World War II veteran, and usually fairly conservative. He highly disapproves of Iraq, though, and President Bush. I have a brother who is on his 4th tour in Afghanistan and grandpa thinks that mission is worthy of a great country like the U.S., but he says Iraq is a great shame on us - from the very beginning.
