Barnes and Graves face off in different directions
Hearne Christopher Jr. has a really good column quoting former KC Council member and mayor pro tem Joe Serviss regarding the many foibles of Mayor Funky so far.
Local blog Gone Mild points out that Serviss is an old pal of the Country Club Kay Crowd and taking pot shots at Funky is rather easy seeing as how the guy is one of the least popular people in KC proper right now.
On the other hand, Rep. Sam Graves seems to be working against another powerless foe: Mexican immigrants.
The point here is that neither of them are really running on their record. Graves is nothing but a cheerleader for the failed policies of President Bush, while Kay has an arena with no anchor tenant to answer for in KC . . . So it's fun watching them bash completely unrelated parties in order to confuse voters who as to who they're really running against.

Does anyone else beleive there is an orchestrated campaign run by a PR firm to continually stir up negative things about Funkhouser? The developers have a lot to lose and spending a few thousand with a PR firm would not be a big expense compared with the millions they stand to lose.

Funk is a failure all by himself -- with constant help from Gloria, Dirty Joe, Kendrick the Odd and the Wolfeman.
There is no reason for anyone to spend money to make Funk look bad, the taxpayers are footing the bill.
Really, a 3rd party candidate in this election would be welcome with open arms. Too bad there's nobody out there because I can't stand either one of the extremes offered in this election.

Kay Barnes sucks. Nothing is worse than having to walk 4 blocks to see Van Halen.
If you are paying to see fucking corpses play on stage then they should make you walk a minimum of 20 blocks. Fucking Van Halen. Who opens for them? Loverboy?
