I met Mayor Funkhauser on the street the other day as he was walking towards City Hall. I extended my hand,congratulated him on his victory and vision for the city and watched his reaction in an attempt to guage him as a person. Since I am a man of color and obviously 100% American I know what it is like to have someone not like you before you say a word. This man's reaction certainly does not express a acceptance or kindness towards people of color. I was quite offended and taken aback that he would be able to be the Mayor and still react like people of color are a a mystery that needs to be approached with caution
