Ferruzza introduces the next, local restaurant failure

File this one under- Hipster eateries make me lose my appetite: "Mama" Jan Imber and Ira Auerbach, owners of the 10-year-old Bell Street Mama’s diner at 1726 West 39th Street, confirmed that they had signed a lease on the Nichols Lunch location at 39th Street and Southwest Trafficway and had already started renovation on the space.

The new restaurant will be called Mama's 39th Street Diner . . . And it'll be closed in less than a year.

  1. i am surprised that anyone would lease a building to them. according to the local 39th street gossip; they haven't paid their rent at the bell street location for several months. plus they are mostly douchebags. they do have great biscuits and gravy though.

  2. I can't think of a better fit for the Nichols space! They're about the only ones who could do WORSE food than Nichols...
Should have torn that building down for a new 12 story condo tower...

  3. That place will be hugely popular. Nichols Lunch managed to stay in business for too long.

Do drag queens eat biscuits n gravy?

  4. Honey, at Nichols Lunch, the drag queens not only ate biscuits and gravy (has anyone seen the size of Belle Starr's ass?) -- they served them. Nichols had at least one transgendered server and she was the bester server in that shithole. I still say that Nichols should have been turned into an IHOP.

You're lucky. When this is completely false in a year, nobody will remember and call your idiot ass out on it.

  10. Yes I too seen the place on food network and ran few times on replays even through out the week it will be on again.Free advertisement and getting alot people like myself going wow did not know it was there and the food looked good to me however unlike critics most people have simple taste we love bbq here in Kansas city and mid west and the simple things sorry there food don't taste like a 5 star restuarant. But for the rest of us I think most would judge for their selfs. What one dislikes one may like. Not to say how many people around other states just seen that and will see it later this week on several times. And with the new Sprint center holding anything you can imagine and many from other states as well countries even been here and will be here and just to think when they say you know that diner we seen on the Food Network lets check it out,( the diner is 7-10 min away and depending on where they stay in hotel close by downtown sprint center 5 min away ).Not everyone gets on the food network channel.
