Same old song and dance around KC

The latest edition of KC Currents is killer. I listened to is and I was surprised to hear that it contained many hints that not much has changed in this town.

  • There's a new aerobics craze working it's way across the city. It's called Zumba and it reminds me that seeing women sweat from doing something other than my laundry is also sexy.

  • There is another Interfaith movement among religious folks in KC. Double Bonus: Writing check directly to God avoids pesky preacher middlemen.

  • You're never too old to do the same old song and dance: Alvin Brooks Revives the Ad Hoc Group Against Crime. Frankly, I wish him luck and I'm glad the guy who lost the Mayor's race is going to at least address the subject of crime given that the current Mayor hasn't even spoken to the topic at all because of his repeated missteps.

  • Anyway, the entire show is good stuff and well worth a listen if only to enjoy a rare opportunity where the minority community in Kansas City is represented by something other than a mugshot.
