IT'S A TIE!!!

Brooks and Funkhouser in dead heat:

Each candidate received 48% in the poll, conducted over the weekend. Nine-hundred people were polled with 526 identified by SurveyUSA as likely to vote. The poll has a 4.4% margin of error . . . Quick facts: Surveys historically undercount Black people, My prediction (usually wrong) this thing is so close it will resemble the 2000 presidential election and will be resolved by the person who most effectively "thugs their way" into office . . . Advantage to the Brooks camp on that one. Also, no matter what I think we're looking at a one term mayor given that fact that nobody has a clear consensus here AND the candidates seem to be overlooking or simply paying lip service to the most important issues in this town . . . Which will no doubt get worse because both contenders have shown they'd rather play politics than deal with anything real. Also, all of Country Club Kay's failures will come to fruition on the watch of the next man in charge . . . So politically, they'll be left with the blame. One last thing, white liberals are better at losing . . . And more accustomed to it.

Brooks takes the election Bush style. You may be more correct than you think Tony.

Obviously too many don't care about continued corruption:
The City Campaign Contribution Limit is $3,000 for the Primary (2/27/07) and $3,000 for the General Election (3/27/07)

Brooks has accepted contributions from CTB Investors, LLC and LRB Operations, LLC. Both entities have the same mailing address (The Stinson Morrison Hecker Law Firm). He took in $6,000 from each entity on 3/13/07 (after the Primary) and both weren't even formed until 3/1/07 (after the Primary).

No reporting on any of this . . .

Brooks is old. Brooks took money from predatory lenders and others that look shady. Brooks is using Pat Gray. Brooks has done nothing for 8 years but light candles. Brooks has made promises to all sorts of people. I find it difficult to believe that half of this city believes all that makes him a good leader.

I think it's hilarious that liberals new tactic is to claim the other side cheated when they lose.

There was a time when respect for the democratic process was more important than boosting up the egos of their loser- not anymore.

Put up or shut up with your spurious claims of voter fraud.

If you volvo driving Brooksiders who suddenly care about a balanced budget lose it will be because most of this city doesn't want a one-issue mayor.

Well, what the hell do you expect when one guy looks like the older brother of Nipsy Russel, and the other looks like Sauron from Lord of the Rings?

I just thank whatever god or gods exist that I don't live in KC proper and have to make that choice.

Hey, did you hear that the Dems are recruiting Kay to run against Graves?

I saw the internals of that poll and they are saying that more young people will vote than people over 65. They say blacks will turn out more than whites.

Both assumptions go against common sense -- especially for a municipal election.

Funkhouser 53% Brooks 47%
