Is politics better when it's ugly?

I think so, but Dan over at Gone Mild is actually a nice guy who claims that an aggressive Brooks campaign still couldn't have worked. I actually think I agree with Kraske and the comments all over the net prove that NEITHER side was really interested in a clean campaign. However, what I like is that all the scum and sleaze was left to the Internets while the public faces were always pretty . . . I think that works in the favor of every blogger and says a lot of about our medium. Still, Dan's perspective is worth checking out and (as usual) he makes a ton of great points. No homo.
