Funkhouser was robbed!!!

Maybe.

So I heard from two people that somebody broke into Funkhouser's campaign headquarters yesterday but I can't find a link to accompany the rumor. Also, they said that graffiti style messages were left behind . . . But nobody described what the messages read.

The campaign headquarters are on the Westside and it's not like robberies around here are uncommon . . . But this so-called incident sounded really more like a political job than an honest to goodness (heh) attempt at theft.

Soooooo, can anybody point me in the right direction about this incident? I'd like to know what those messages were all about . . . And I think it's kind of newsworthy that a Mayoral candidate was (might have been) a victim of crime since safety issues and community policing aren't even a topic of discussion in this upcoming election.

I heard the same thing and I don't think it's the news media being quiet but that nobody cares enough to ask. Less than 20% of the registered voters came out for last election and that represents only a fraction of those who are eligible to vote.

Pretty pathetic and neither Brooks nor Funk are very inspiring.

According to these rumors, the Funk inspired someone.

Since no one else is talking crime, Tony, what do you want the candidates to say? How would you approach the probloem of crime b esides pointing your finger?

KC BUZZ Blog has some scoop on it today -- the most info I've seen on the matter is there.

I didn't hear anything about the incident.

But as I was taking my after-lunch constitutional I spotted Da Funkmeister lumbering north on Walnut across the street from the Town Pavillion.

Reminded me a bit of Treebeard on his way to Isengard. But sans shoulder-hobbits.

Did they steal his car too?

It was a person who had worked his way into our campaign and who wanted Funk to do outrageous favors for him. Then he sort of went nuts, broke in and wrote all kinds of weird graffiti on the wall, such as "EPHEMERA" and "HUBRIS." It was scary because some of the graffiti was eerily directed at Funk's wife.

Mark is not going to press charges. We're still not sure if the person was a plant from one of the many insider groups that are lining up against us. But there's really no time to try to piece everything together and investigate and figure it out. We've got to shoulder forward.

Miller is under attack over at The Star's message boards.

Hope Funk rewards you well should he win because you've fucked your credibility as an objective journalist. Especially in the Black community.

Yeah because EVERY SINGLE BLACK PERSON supports Brooks and anonymous comments have so much credibility.

Asshole.

I could care less, Joe. The more you react to this distraction the more the real issues get lost.

Luckily my proposed city budget of $143.72 was recovered. Don't worry everyone, your potholes will be fixed just like glorious, model, racially segregated Prairie Villiage.
I love that town.

That's funny, Joe. Your personal attacks on me, a lowly Kansas City voter, didn't seem like "woopty do" the other day. What's next, are you going to accuse your opponents of breaking in to your double-wide? No wait. You already did that.

It's clear from the conduct of his supporters that Funkhouser can't work with anybody and can't built a consensus among anyone but his loyalists.
