Friends like these . . . Worst elements of outgoing Council provide contrary indicator quasi-endorsement
City Councilmen Chuck Eddy and John Fairfield said former city auditor Mark Funkhouser lacks the leadership skills to be mayor.
Opinion, Jokes and Stories from KC
You have to give Brooks and his bunch credit on this one. They did it on Friday afternoon so the media didn't really get a chance to get the word of the other side. Or at least I didn't see any kind of response that wasn't posted on one of these partisan blogs.
Well played Mr. Brooks.
Funkhouser has no friends!!! Not a bad campaign slogan.
Clearly the Brooks camp is getting scared...and desperate.
I think Tony has it right - we need to remember that Eddy and Fairfield recently thought that Eddy and Fairfield would be better mayors than Brooks.
So two guys who got like 1% of the primary vote are saying Funkhouser has no leadership skills? What's that one saying...you know...something about a pot and a kettle?
Hey Chuck...saw your backstabbing lardass in the Brookside Parade on Saturday. Your hoopty Caddie convertable (the saddest of all the politico rides that day) was seriously scraping tailpipe. No wonder you were slouched down low in the backseat with your bucket hat and sunglasses. You probably didn't want Mark to find you sad self.
You even got called out by Channel 41! They had the video of you praising Funkhouser at his retirement. "You have made my job easier," said Eddie in November 2006. "We sat down and talked and worked through all the issues.... thank you for being the person you are."
Seriously...maybe you should start thinking about salad
