Fire Katie! Or you could just change the channel

via The D.

A new local website is calling for weather broad Katie Horner's job (heh, i.e. they want her fired).

This seems a tad overboard and overlooks the fact that nobody is forcing anyone to watch Channel 5's coverage. In fact, if the ratings for the type of panic stricken news that KCTV5 delivers in every sense weren't so good, I'm sure the whole staff could get canned . . . But that's simply not the case. The thing I don't like about Horner is that she's so captivating about the world coming to an end because of some snowflakes or a few raindrops. I believe her every time . . . I guess that has something to do with my complex relationship with white women or simply because she smiles a lot in between scaring the bejebus out of me. In any event, this seems like the work of somebody who has lost their remote control . . .

She wasn't the only one - both abc and nbc kept local tv on last night for over an hour. So should we fire all of them??? lol

Yeah, you could turn the channel, but I think this anti-Horner website isn't just about Katie - it's about the entire state of local media.

They don't do anything worthwhile!

They cover house fires.
They report on perverts or possible perverts.
They run fluff stories on their channel's prime-time line-up.
They fill up the remaining minutes with weather charts and clips of wacky events that happened in OTHER CITIES while breathlessly saying, "Take a look at this!"

I'm glad somebody is fed up enough with at least one aspect of local crap news and wants to do something about it even if it's not much.

FYI...I tried to turn the channel...the point of the site is that b/c of Katie, all channels are now permanent weather stations during "severe" weather....I am headed to the basement with my bike helmet and infant car seat now! Wait...I can't see Katie or Gary through the safety goggles.

Just a thought about the site in question:

Why has he shut down the forums?
Could it be that reasonable people called him on the carpet and outnumbered his lemmings that made a feeble attempt to follow him?

Could it be that after a feeble attempt to gain 15 minutes of fame the clock has run out?

Could it be that reasonable folk take in all the weather information presented to them and make decisions without some jacknut site on the web telling them how to think?

I belive it is all of the above.
