Proposed Children's Museum in Shawnee seems like a smarter deal than Science City

From the folks who brought you "Beyond the book" and Wonderscope: The project's backers hope to have a 36,500-square-foot museum — with a potential price tag of $15 million — up and running by the summer of 2009. They say such a museum could draw 150,000 visitors a year from a six-state area. Hopefully, maybe KC leaders can visit and maybe read something about how to feed our less successful white elephants.
