Locals aren't giving much attention to the upcoming election

For January, yesterday was a lovely day and yet with attendance of less than 150 at a meeting intended to decide the fate of this town it's clear that nobody is interested in Kansas City's Mayoral forums.

From what I've heard more than half of the audience cleared out before the thing was over. I'm guessing that there were nearly as many people on stage as there were in the audience when it was time for final statements. The upshot of all this is that it now should only take 7 votes to get to the primary. However, it is troubling that nobody seems too fond of Democracy in Iraq nowadays and there doesn't seem to be much interest over here either.

I think KSHB got it wrong. There were more like 300 people there. Unless you don't count the candidates. Then, yeah, I guess 150 is about right.

My opinion: there are so many of these things and they are only advertised locally and in a hit-and-miss fashion that getting over 100 audience members at any single one is actually "an accomplishment."
