Same old song, pro sports fails to benefit KC

Here is yet another example of how Pro Sports basically gives nothing back to this town with the help of politicos . . .
"More than a decade ago, the legislature enacted a law calling for half of the income taxes paid by out-of-state athletes and entertainers who worked in Missouri to be put in the newly established fund. According to the Symphony's lawsuit, the legislature has allocated only a fraction of the money called for under the statute. In 2003, 2004 and 2005, it says, it allocated nothing. The Kansas City Symphony seeks to force the legislature to come up with the funding, which it says is mandatory, not discretionary. As one of the biggest arts organizations in the state, the Symphony stands to be a major beneficiary of the fund."Thing is, the Symphony is something that enriches this community and is something more than just a commercial beer fest . . . Yet this town's culture or the institutions which define KC mean very little to politicians all across this state who are too busy chasing the pandering to any and everything having to do with pro sports with little or no payoff for the community at large.
