If cops can't save on construction costs, then how are they going to save the city?

The Kansas City police academy under construction in the Northland has its problems, including cost overruns of more than $8 million and millions more for unplanned road costs.
Strange, it seems like $8 million over-budget is some kind of crime.

The City was looking at property in the sixth district to build the academy - property the owners were going to donate with good access to major highways. Alvin Brooks was on that committee, so you would have thought there was a good chance it would go south instead of north. This is just one more example of how the sixth district has had no representation in 8 years.
