You're not allowed to laugh at MU

Since so many college officials have nothing to do but play PC thug all day in their ivory tower it's no surprise to learn that a University of Missouri faculty organization is criticizing Board of Curators member David Wasinger for making "homophobic comments."

If you don't know the guy's "offense" yet, unlike highly underrated hip-hop/Dance Hall artist Shabba Ranks he didn't call for the crucifixion of homosexuals - Which really isn't that controversial in the rap world - He merely questioned the validity of Queer Theory.
Wasinger, a St. Louis lawyer, made a critical comment about teaching "queer theory" courses during the board's Academic and Student Affairs Committee meeting at UM-Kansas City earlier this month. Five days later, the UM-St. Louis Faculty Senate adopted a resolution at its regular meeting criticizing him.
Funny thing is, as a communications major, I studied queer theory - No homo - and I found that most academics think it's a joke as well. And here's something that most outsiders don't know . . . Queer Theory isn't some fringe perspective taught by flaky profs . . . It's the dominant theory in terms of cultural studies. So, what this guy was really doing was questioning the status quo even though the PR put out by the University suggests otherwise . . . But that always seems to be the case and it's also a joke to see that administrators know so little about what's going on in their classrooms because, in fact, Queer theory is influential in literary and film criticism and profs would be doing a disservice if they didn't teach it. I think I benefited from learning about queer theory and how to deconstruct texts using it as a reference . . . At the very least it taught me that Top Gun was completely the ghey.

Also, it's nice to see that officials at MU are so concerned about diversity when their enrollment numbers of poor, brown people are so laughably low.
