Surcharge in addition to the Stadium Tax and why you should feel stupid for supporting the Chiefs

Hope the recent Chiefs blowout of the 49ers has you feeling good. Here is yet another thing to stand up and cheer about since Chiefs fans are so fond of screaming their heads off at the good fortune of a team who not only don't give a damn about this town but also seek to tax their fans at every turn: The Chiefs and the NFL are increasing the surcharge for their tickets despite promises from (CLUELESS) Jackson County officials that they wouldn't.
Now negotiators for the Chiefs and Jackson County are asking county legislators to amend the lease to charge season-ticket holders $131 for each ticket spread out over three years, which would be about $44 per year. Exactly why the NFL changed its mind was unclear this afternoon as NFL representatives said they were still gathering information and could not comment just yet. Chiefs representatives also could not be reached.I really hope that everyone who voted for the Stadium Tax feels like a sucker. I know an early season and meaningless victory might have fans feeling good regardless of the bad news but if you've followed the team closely than you are aware that they have never been able to play under pressure. Only their management is good with clutch victories and even they need the help of crooked ass Kansas City politicos in order to mislead the public.
This is one of the reasons why people who opposed the Stadium Tax did so, not because anybody cares about what JoCo Chiefs fans have to pay but because no one should take big money corporations or sleazy public officials at their word. Had the team revealed that they were going to give the finger to their fans after scoring their tax payer approved touchdown, that would have made all of the pro-tax rallies by fans (i.e. employees in Chiefs gear) look even more ridiculous.
And sad thing is, this isn't close to the end of all the smarmy news that will emanate from the 1 billion dollar slush fund and all of the other ankle grabbing that Jackson County did for the home team. For both the Chiefs and the people of KC, this is only the beginning of yet another mediocre season.
A special thanks to an awesome tipster for sending this my way!
