No Homo, No money

Frankly, just like this local blogger I'm also surprised that the recent decision of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City to deny funding requests by the Salvation Army and the City Union Mission because of their so-called discriminatory practices hasn't received more play in the local media or caused a few fruity bastards to throw an impromptu parade in the middle of city streets.

Certainly this is a great victory for ass sex, techno music, t-shirts that are way too tight and women's basketball.

Normally, I'm all about tolerance, acceptance and the promotion of sex with several anonymous partners but this just seems like yet another instance where a big money player in this city is being allowed to bully anyone with whom they disagree. It's not a step toward diversity, it's a measure against autonomy and a clear sign that ghey rights is far more important than charity or all of the other great work done by Salvation Army and the City Union Mission. Argue all you want, this is a measure of intolerance toward other people's (Christian in this instance) values.

It would have been far more productive for the Health Care Foundation to work toward promoting ghey social workers in alternative arenas . . . Think about it, somewhere there is a lesbian without a flannel shirt or a ghey dude who doesn't have a copy of Depeche Mode's greatest hits; rather than using financial threats the HCF could have created a wonderful local ghey charity . . . Other than PETA. Instead of working to promote acceptance, the Health Care Foundation has done nothing but enforced their will by way of bitchy intimidation and that's really "ghey" for lack of better word.

Come on Tony, you can do better than that. So your saying a Foundation that stands on its prinicples and chooses to not give THEIR OWN MONEY to a discrimatory group is a bad thing. Your basically saying the HCF should loose their autonomy and bow down to the discriminatory practices of the Salvation army.

It is HCF's money, they can give it to whoever they want. If the Salvation army wants to be a bunch of pricks who discriminate against gays and mexicans, that is their choice.

City Union Mission doesn't care much for Jewish folks either...unless they can convert them.

Of course, if the foundation was going to end funding of pro-gay organizations, then the reactions here would be completely different.

I guess it's time that religious charities stop providing aid to homosexuals. It's the only fair thing to do.

I've never even heard of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City. Someone should explain discrimination to them.
