What does KC think of the Promise Keepers?

There is a great thread over at KC Forum that provides a look at local opinion regarding the organization. Lots of strong viewpoints from all sides and worth a read if your interested. The group is coming to Kemper in August so I'm sure that some broad is soon to make a stink in the local media or you'll soon be inundated with all of the typical coverage of these guys.

Thank God the Christian right is around to tell me how to act like a man. For a second there, I thought I might actually have to think for myself.

Whew! That was a close one...

I'd think a lot more of them if the racist, sexist bastards would promise not to come here ever again.

It's a shame. So many comments by people who have (A) never been to a convention (B) have no idea what they're talking about.

I've been to two conventions the past couple years and never heard word one about oppressing their wives. I was in Jacksonville and Charleston - two very hispanic, and very black towns. There were tons of minorities there. Tons.

Tell you what folks - go to promisekeepers.org and look at what their organization is about instead of reading third-hand baloney drummed up by someone with their own agenda of keeping you as far from being a good husband to your wife, father to your kids, employee, employer, etc.

If you can truly still spew hate about PK, then so be it. I wish you luck in life, because many those principles are viewed by even the most staunch athiests as just good sense for living (minus the God part, of course).
