I've always know that local blogger Mac Tonnies is a genius but he truly shows his insight when he compares the current Midwest heatwave with a similar situation in France a few years ago. Furthermore, Mac looks into the future with crystal clear clarity and predicts what everybody in this town is afraid to talk about and what is likely the "negative synergy" that downtown planners aren't considering when both downtown redevelopment (read: gentrification) the abundance of luxury living space and global warming combine. Mac looks into the future and writes: "I can easily imagine high temperatures making overnight ghost towns out of low-income suburbs."
