The Supreme Arrogance and Hypocrisy of White People on Display at Penn Valley

Before I graduated UMKC, I went to Penn Valley Community College. It was by far the best educational experience I've ever had. During my time at that institution I underwent a transformation from someone who could care less about academic achievement to an editor of the student newspaper, an Honor Roll student and one of the few guys who could make a quick buck at the long running poker game in the cafeteria and still show up on time for my Chem lab. However, since I'm the grandson of illegal immigrants on one side of my family tree I guess that still means that I shouldn't be in this country and maybe this town would be better off without a blog that several hundred of its citizens read everyday. In other words, I consider Penn Valley my home turf and I was very disappointed to find out that Krazy Kris Kobach might be making an appearance on campus.

Public testimony will likely be permitted at the Missouri House Special Committee on Illegal Immigration in Kansas City at Penn Valley College at 10:00 a.m. June 29th, 2006.

Rumor has it that Kris Kobach might have the guts, nerve, balls, audacity to come to my neighborhood in order to bad mouth people who look like my Grandma. Strange, because he can't even win an election in his own county yet he thinks can come to mine in order to spew his dumbass opinions. Let's hope he reconsiders because I'll be there to boo him and I'm not leaving until they kick me out (or kindly ask me to be quiet).

How would the people of Johnson County feel about me going into their neighborhoods and public forums in order to espouse my feelings about minority hiring or diversity training? Given the fact that I get a ticket every time I cross the State Line into Kansas, I'm guessing that I wouldn't be welcome.

So, here's my advice: Stay home Kris Kobach. Stay on your side of the State Line where you can beat up the poor people who work to provide cheap labor until your heart's content. But do not think that you can come into a predominantly Latino neighborhood and bad mouth people who share a common heritage and ancestry with so-called "illegals" without getting thoroughly booed and embarrassed by something other than your stagnant political career. And I don't even want to go into the fact that the guy obviously doesn't understand the basic principles of conservatism (free markets & small government) as he whines in favor of more government regulation and bureaucracy at the border.

By the way, I'm asking (begging actually) every local Latino with a computer (all 3 of you) to show up at this meeting if you have a chance. I know its during the day but you have plenty of notice and this is a place where Chicanos just might be able to demonstrate their solidarity with the cause of immigrant rights and opposition to the scapegoating that's being perpetrated against everyone of Mexican decent by opportunists, racists and fear mongers like Krazy Kris Kobach.

Tony, what gives you the idea that KKKris KKKobach is representative of the views of the average JoCo resident? You said it yourself, he can't even win an election here. So stop the posturing and the lumping of Triple K in with the rest of us high class JoCos. ;-)

  2. Twice I've had mumbling Mexicans threaten to "cut" me.

I have never been threatened in this town by white people that way.
