New & Improved

I don't know what's up with the Westport Sunfresh but it has made quite an improvement lately. The place is actually worth a visit for something other than puking after a night of Westport bar hopping.

For a long time I had shied away from the place because an underreported news story revealed that some poor guy was stabbed in the face in the parking lot but upon a recent visit I noticed not only an improved produce section but also a newly remodeled interior and a sushi bar (I don't eat that garbage but it was nice to see).

Normally, I only go to Price Chopper (El Choppo) because I'm only 5'11 (on a good day) and being around a lot of Mexicans makes me feel tall. But the new digs at the Sunfresh on Mill Creek are worth enduring the Midtown hipsters and other white people who feel that they deserve a medal for not high tailing to JoCo with all their other homies.

I know, I know it's pretty lame to be excited about a grocery store but considering that the Downtown (pipe dream) Market will take years to materialize and will ultimately be shut down after somebody is killed in the parking lot . . . This is the only good redevelopment news I can produce with a clear conscience.
