The bridge so far

I have absolutely no f-ing clue why so many white people in this town are excited about the dumbass bridge linking Union Station and the crossroads. So many millions for a project that may get a little bit of traffic on the first Friday of every month. So glad that KC could finance yet another attraction for JoCo interlopers.

JoCo interlopers dropping their bucks downtown is a good thing, Tony. Let's bring those dollars into the city rather than watch them get traded back and forth in the 'burbs like a bad case of the crabs.

Lighten up, Francis.

It was a slow news day, and it was a pretty impressive engineering feat. The freakin' Discovery channel came out to tape it.

Save the hate.

Tony likes to bitch about how bad the city sucks, and then likes to bitch about how the city tries to fix the sucking. Tony has all the answers. All hail Tony. Under his wise leadership, nothing will ever get done because everything sucks and there's no point in even trying.

Boy, that sure is funny! What a great humor blog.

Happy Birthday, Tony!

I think this qualifies as a very unique new amenity for downtown as well as being a worthwhile effort at historic preservation and adaptive reuse (recycling on a grand scale). It encourages pedestrian traffic in a safe environment and helps link Crown Center, Union Station and the businesses in the Crossroads. All to the good.

I'm excited about it, it'll shave about 1500 feet off my walks. ;)

It's not all that different from the federal dollars and PIAC money being spent for the new Red Bridge bridge in order to make commuting to JoCo that much easier. Even if it does destroy South Kansas City neighborhoods.
