"'Cause every Puerto Rican's a lousy chicken"

The local TV stations are reporting that Anthony Amato, the former superintendent of the New Orleans School District, will most likely be the next superintendent of the KCMO School District.

Amato seems to have a strong rep but there is not denying that he was run out of New Orleans in a hurry just like many poorer members of the Black community in that town (Thank you God, global warming, the undercover ops who destroyed the levy, etc.).

If you looked over the resumes of all of the superintendent applicants it was easy to see that they were either embattled in their previous gigs or really underqualified. Clearly, KC is the last stop for many education careers on a downward spiral.

Here's a bit intracultural rivalry trivia: Mexicans and Puerto Ricans hate each other. And not just because Linda Chavez is a bitch. Puerto Ricans can come here legally and Mexicans can't; it's a sore spot but many Mexicans find it necessary to make reference to the fact that all Puerto Ricans have some percentage of African decent in their background when the topic is under discussion . . . Racial politics is silly. However, I can't help but be pleased that there is a Latino working at the school district other than the janitors and in some small sense I feel that David Smith has made a bit of atonement for his previous transgressions against the good people of Puerto Rico. And, maybe this will prove to be beneficial for the 7 or 8 kids who have not yet dropped out of KC public schools.
