Sprint Center Still Shuts Out Minorities

Jimmy the Greek once made the (stupid) observation that Black people were more inclined to be better athletes because of breeding done during the era of slavery (1400-1978). If you were to make a bold, stupid leap in logic (like I regularly do) then the horrible lack of minorities in the construction of the Sprint Center is also a legacy of these attitudes. I'm guessing that Black people are only allowed to profit from their exploits while competing in the Sports arena and not the far more lucrative aspect of building the thing.

Additionally, while Mexicans have little to no athletic acumen except in the area of serving as a human punching bags there is no denying that we are world class complainers. Bobby Hernandez has taken city officials to task for their neglect in ensuring the minority participation that was guaranteed as a condition of constriction.
The Fairness in Construction Board had set an ambitious goal for the downtown arena - 20 percent minority participation and 12 percent female participation. So far, the project has 16 percent minority and 4 percent female involvement in contracting.

"We have been taken for a ride," Bobby Hernandez, of the Hispanic Association Contractors Enterprise, complained to the council'’s Finance Committee.

City officials acknowledged that no Hispanic contractor has gotten significant work on the project to date. Councilman Charles Eddy said the city should do better.

Maybe Chuck Eddy can get Minority workers some work on tearing down Red Bridge Road. He slipped that through the council last week. He can start looking for another job. Maybe working for one of the Hispanic construction firms that he will get a job building the five lane road through south town neighborhoods.

"while Mexicans have little to no athletic acumen"

That's not true!!

What about all of those masked, Mexican wrestlers??

Even though I hear the words "Bring out the Gimp!" everytime I see one of them, they are certainly more "athletic" than Olympic Curlers.

I wanna see Masked Mexican Wrestling in the next Summer Olympics!

That should be scarier than shit on my 46" HDTV!
