Greg Reeves doesn't know what the fuck he's writing about . . .

Last week, Greg Reeves of The Star's spamblog Crime Scene KC was busy hyping the great pandemic of violence that had finally hit downtown KC when white people showed up for something other than business on St. Paddy's Day. Turns out he was completely wrong and the KCPD notes that there was actually a significant drop in the number of arrests.

Still, Reeves and quite a few local message boards were all to happy to slap a photo of a young Black kid eating concrete at the hands of two cops. This perception that all darkies are criminals by white people and their subsequent panic is ultimately self-defeating. I've often noted that any truly successful venture in this city is going to have to take into account that there are now a lot of Black and brown people with cars who like nice shit too AND that fear is much more harmful than bullets, your daughter dating a Black guy or the fact that it's mainly Mexicans who make your meal.

Still, Reeves was all too happy to note the fear and intolerance he was bolstering as his comment count went sky high thanks to the suburban dipshits who believe anything that local media has to offer when it comes to serious examinations of race and violence.

Reeves can spin stats all he wants but in the end it seems as if he does nothing more than offer encouragement of all the worst instincts of his (mostly white and old) readership. It's a shame that he's calling his web page a blog because it really seems like nothing more than a cry for a help from a rapidly decaying institution. If you look closely into their glass house you'll see a lot of scared white people who are simply looking to inspire in you the same kind of terror that they feel when they realize that this town simply doesn't need a daily paper anymore.

Right on! We should start a long comment thread here about what animals white people are.

How dare you insult the place where I get my cupons! For shame! Don't you know that if the nice newspaper man doesn't tell me to be afraid of Black people I'd just have to turn on the TV news instead.
