First Meth and now Mexicans in Independence

It's Monday so it's time for a little bit of self-hatred. There's nothing that sparks my self-loathing more than a condescending article from The Star. Today's misguided Mexican missive has to do with the growing number of future dishwashers Latinos in KC Schools. Apparently, the white people of Independence are too illiterate and high on Meth to notice the recent influx of Mexicans. It's amazing what you miss when you've been up for 9 days in a row.

Anyway, here's how the Star puts a happy face on the situation:
The district's percentage of Hispanic students stood near 6 percent last year, in line with the rest of the metropolitan area, according to census figures. But the district's increase of nearly two-thirds between 2001 and 2005 far outpaced growth in the broader community.

So in January, the district freed up Peck and Nanette Smith - both bilingual teachers - to help Spanish-speaking families.

The women's tasks range from interpreting instructions from a school nurse during a health screening to talking with parents about grades and discipline.
And that's all well and good but there is bound to be some animosity toward these new arrivals. There are only so many fat white women to go around . . . the competition between former white cons looking for a sugar mama and illegals in need of wife who is a citizen must be intense.

And because I know white people (I have lived among them) I know that these kind of articles only serve to create discord. The Mexican invasion of the United States needs to be stealthy if it is to be successful (read: profitable). Nobody cares who cooks the food, fights the wars, mows the lawns, cleans the toilets as long as it gets done . . . Publicizing so many Mexicans utilizing public services may make the liberals happy but it won't sit well with the rank and file conservatives who have grown accustomed to yelling "They took yer job" at random intervals throughout the day.

However, the most important task facing this company country is the ongoing effort to keep prices low. While slave Chinese labor abroad provides reasonable prices on consumer goods (Thank you Wal-Mart) the Mexicans are integral in maintaining a cost effective service industry. So, while it may be unpleasant I'd simply advise you to smile, enjoy your cheap electronics and fast food and simply nod your head when the guy who is dating your daughter comes to you one day and asks "Can I call ju Dad?"
