I’ve been a patron of the Bronx on Bell Street since the late eighties I think. And if I had my choice of the old atmosphere or the current I’d take the old any day. Walking in there back then the place was just so alive and vibrant. It reminded me of this large family where everyone spoke in their outside voices but still loved and dug each other. I also thought that everyone was so nice and attentive to my needs. Some day’s I’d walk in and all I’d want would be a BLT which isn’t on the menu but they were more then happy to make one up for me. I still go there now but the vibe has changed and even though the food is still as good the whole experience isn’t the same. It’s like some one taking your favorite bartenders and making em put on uniforms and cover up their tattoos. You’re still getting the same drink but everything that made it fun is gone.
