Local blogger Heidi blogs against racism by addressing the shortcomings of KC's bus system despite their recent public relations overtures to Rosa Parks:
How nice that there's now a sign by the front seat of a bus honoring Rosa Parks. As for myself, I love the idea of conserving energy and riding with the proletarian masses on a public transportation system built for the working people of this city. But then I really hate sitting next to strangers and I enjoy farting and cussing people out in the privacy of my own car and speeding while I'm doing it. Let's just call it a dream deferred . . .
It will be even nicer when there is enough transit to serve everyone who needs it, when it works as well for people of all classes and colors.
